At Medowie medical centre, we provide health services to children of all ages, from birth to adolescence.
We insist on a smooth transition from pregnancy, life in the uterus to the life outside of it.
Tailoring both the baby’s and parent’s needs to help them in this very important and memorable, although at times, stressful time.
Our doctors and nurses continue to provide age and stage appropriate history and examinations.
Your baby’s first visit to a doctor is one of the most important ones.
At your first visit (Baby’s 6 weeks) doctors pay attention to: feeding and its patterns, growth, development, bonding with parents, colic, reflux, intolerances, skin and dermatitis, nails, cradle cap and sleep.
Conducting a thorough examination of your baby including examining their height, head circumference, fontanelle eyes, ears, responses, heart, lungs, skin and birth marks, umbilicus and hips.
It is also time for first immunisation against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), hepatitis B, polio, haemophilus influenza type b (HIB), rotavirus and pneumococcal.
At the same time we also conduct the mother’s 6 week check.
The doctors will answer many questions you may have guiding you through the process, and explaining everything every step of the way.
